Motion sensors are commonly used in security systems. They work based on a wide variety of principles and are used in a wide variety of applications. Typical usage could be in the exterior doorways or windows of a building for monitoring the area around the building. Upon detecting motion, they generate an electrical signal based on which some actions are taken. Some operate in much the same way as a military radar scanner, while others work based on vibration, infrared radiation and, even sound. All of these different types of sensors have different strengths and weaknesses, which are important to take into account when making a decision to choose a particle motion detection sensor.
Driving under the influence of alcohol has affected and killed countless of people’s lives. If you drink and drive, not only do you possibly put yourself at risk, but your passengers and pedestrians, and other people, who were on the roads. Just think about that. Every thirty minutes someone’s life is cut short and families are devastated. So, here we implemented a prototype version Alcohol Detection system in order to control drunk and driving as much as we can. Please follow the link To Know about Different Types of Sensors with their Applications
In this article, we are going to give a brief explanation on how to implement “Home and Industry Safety using Fire and Gas Detection System using GSM”. The main aim of this project is to monitor for liquid petroleum gas (LPG) leakage to avoid fire accidents, providing house/industry safety feature where the security has been an important issue. The system detects the LPG leakage using a gas sensor and flames by a flame sensor that alerts the consumer about the gas leakage by sending SMS with the help of GSM module which is connected preprogrammed microcontroller.
Embedded Software is a key element in every embedded project that is used to run the micro-controller to perform the desired operations. In our daily life, we frequently use many electronic devices such as washing machines, refrigerators, mobile phones, security system, digital camera so on which will be controlled using embedded C program. If you press a button to take a photo with your digital camera, then micro-controller will perform the functions essential to capture the image and store it. This article presents basics of embedded systemsmicro-controller consists of many ports to construct the embedded C programming tutorial. [Read more…]
Embedded system was first used in “Building Apollo Guidance System” by Charles Stark Draper at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in the year 1960; it is one of the modern embedded systems, which is used for navigation and control of the respective crafts. Usage of the Apollo Guidance System is a risk because it is developed by using a keypad and numeric display. It was frequently used and refined in a lot of NASA’s space missions. Then, the Autonetics D-17 Guidance Computer has come for the Minuteman Missile- an ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) is used by the United States Air Force. Let’s look at an overview of the advanced embedded system basics and applications. [Read more…]
Most of the applications of embedded systems require keypads to take the user inputs, especially in case where an application requires more number of keys. With simple architecture and easy interfacing procedure, matrix keypads are replacing normal push-buttons by offering more inputs to the user with the lesser I/O pins. As a Human Machine Interface (HMI) keypad plays a major role in vital microprocessor and microcontroller based projects and equipments. Therefore, this article gives you a brief idea on matrix keypad interfacing with 8051 microcontroller. [Read more…]
PIC microcontroller was developed in the year 1993 by microchip technology. The term PIC stands for Peripheral Interface Controller. Initially this was developed for supporting PDP computers to control its peripheral devices, and therefore, named as a peripheral interface device. These microcontrollers are very fast and easy to execute a program compared with other microcontrollers. PIC Microcontroller architecture is based on Harvard architecture. PIC microcontrollers are very popular due to their ease of programming, wide availability, easy to interfacing with other peripherals, low cost, large user base and serial programming capability (reprogramming with flash memory), etc. [Read more…]
In present days, in the field of agriculture farmers are facing major problems in watering their crops. It’s because they don’t have proper idea about the availability of the power. Even if it is available, they need to pump water and wait until the field is properly watered, which compels them to stop doing other activities – which are also important for them, and thus they loss their precious time and efforts. But, there is a solution – an automatic plant irrigation system not only helps farmers but also others for watering their gardens as well. [Read more…]
Traffic lights were first invented in the year 1868 at London’s House of Commons where traffic light signals were placed at intersections of George and Bridge Street. Later the traffic lights were developed in the year 1914 by an American Traffic Signal Company, which fixed green and red lights at corners of the 105th street and Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. During this period traffic lights were controlled either by timing or by switching manually. [Read more…]
