Line Following Robotic Vehicle
A line following robot is a one type of robot, that follows a certain lane on which it moves. Lane can be a black lane on a white floor or magnetic field. The line following robot vehicles is being used in a variety of applications from being a guide at public places for automatic vehicles. Here, this robotic vehicle is designed which is made to move on a curved black lane sensed by a pair of sensors for both motors.
It consists of DC supply, and two motors and these motors are controlled by using a transistor which acts as a switch. A couple of sensors, each sensor comprising of an IR LED and a photo diode is placed under the circuit. The white floor is sensed by the two sensors and the motors are given the rotation accordingly. At the turning, on encountering the black lane, one of motors stop rotating with the sensor input. The working principle of sensor is, when IR LED generates light on the white surface then it gets reflected. When the reflected light falls on the photo diode, it reduces its resistance to control the conduction of the motor switch.

At the receiver end, this command is decoded by the decoder. Based on the command, the microcontroller gives relevant signals to the motor driver to drive the motors so that the robot moves in desired motion. A metal detector is embedded in the circuit that detects any metal and using buzzer it gives an indication.
